New Local 1 Coordinator

I wanted to take a minute and introduce myself. I’m Shawn Lenczowski – your new Apprenticeship Coordinator. I’d like to take this time to give you a little history about myself. I have lived around this area most of my life; graduating from Stevenson High School with honors. After high school I pursued work in the auto industry before becoming a brick finisher with Bromley Masonry in 1998. A few short years later, they rolled me into an Apprenticeship and I served most of my time with them before journeying out. I then had the opportunity to run work for several years before being chosen to become the Coordinator for Local 1. I’m really looking forward to this new step and am very excited for things to come.

So far most of my time has been spent preparing for the Western States Brick, Tile, and Marble contest. This was a real time consuming task to put together and I would like to personally thank all the members, contractors and suppliers that made it all happen.  I’d also like to commend all the apprentices that competed in the local event to qualify for the Western States Contest.

After the event, we received a lot of very good feedback and praise on how well everything was put together. I think we represented the area very well and again, I would like to say thank you to all of our apprentices that competed and congratulate them on a job well done. I look forward to meeting all of you at some point, and if any of you have any suggestions or comments on the program, I would encourage your input. I look forward to all the challenges ahead and together we can take this apprenticeship to the next level.
